The ORTC is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization, where cash and property donations to the council are tax deductible. If goods and services were provided, the amount that exceeds the fair market value of the benefit received is deductible. The official registration and financial information of the Ohio River Trail Council may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll free, within Pennsylvania, 1-800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement. The Ohio River Trail Council can be found in the IRS Search for Charities, Online Version of Publication 78. Publication 78, Cumulative List of Organizations described in Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, is a list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
